The film starts in Balat, Istanbul, in early 1960’s. During those years, Balat is a cosmopolitan neighborhood where churches and mosques coexist side by side, Turks and Greeks live together in harmony. Niko(19), a handsome young man of Greek heritage, meets a Turkish girl, Sema (17) by a coincidence. With the mood of a romantic song playing on the radio, Niko is fascinated by this beautiful, young girl at first sight…

The same song takes us to the present day, from İstanbul to Ankara, to another encounter. Defne starts to sing the same song on stage and Kerem’s eyes are locked on her. All the noise around him fades away and there is only her voice left in the room. “A magical moment, when two people assume they met as a coincidence, however, they yet don’t know they are destined for each other, through a secret bond that would change their lives forever…” May be an acquaintance beyond time and space, perhaps a divine attraction, makes them being drawn mystically to each other. This very moment is the spark of a love that would enlight mysteries of the past.
